Indonesia reduces tax breaks to deter low-quality nickel investments

A cabinet minister revealed that Indonesia has implemented tax incentive reductions to curtail investments in lower-quality nickel products. This strategic move aligns with the country’s objective of maximizing the value derived from its abundant nickel reserves and promoting increased downstream investment. In pursuit of these goals, the Indonesian government aims to attract approximately $95 billion in investments this year.
