India’s growth story in the 21st century has been driven by its ambition to expand rapidly while strengthening its core sectors. Among these, infrastructure has emerged as a cornerstone of progress, enhancing productivity, boosting connectivity, and elevating the nation’s global competitiveness.

India’s transformation in this space over the last decade has been steered under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari ji. His forward-looking approach and unwavering commitment have redefined India’s mobility landscape. From world-class expressways and rural road networks to sustainable transport solutions, his initiatives have made infrastructure growth more than just a statistic; it is a force that touches lives, from the farmer reaching new markets to the entrepreneur benefitting from global-standard logistics corridors.

Jindal Stainless, powering the nation’s aspirations

At Jindal Stainless, we find deep resonance with Shri Gadkari ji’s vision. Recognising the pivotal role of stainless steel in India’s growth story and progress, all our actions have been guided by a large purpose: to make stainless steel, the wonder metal, as the backbone of the nation’s most vital industries and infrastructure.

Stainless steel today forms the critical pillars of modern India—from bridges, flyovers, and railways to metro networks, smart cities, and resilient rural infrastructure. Its inherent advantages, such as high corrosion resistance, strength, safety, long lifecycle, and recyclability make it a cost-efficient and sustainable choice for nation-building projects. For instance, stainless steel reinforcement bars are increasingly being used in highways, flyovers, and coastal projects where corrosion poses the greatest threat. By extending the life of such projects, stainless steel reduces repair cycles, saving both cost and resources.

It is this enduring value of this metal that inspires our work, and we are extremely proud to have supplied cutting-edge stainless steel solutions for several milestone projects that have become symbols of national pride. This includes, Vande Bharat sleeper train, hailed as a new era of innovation and safety in Indian Railways, BrahMos Aerospace’s defence projects, and Chandrayaan-3, to name a few. Each of these is proof of stainless steel’s strength, reliability, and limitless potential.

Built to last, build for tomorrow

Equally important is our alignment with Shri Gadkari ji’s emphasis on green mobility and sustainable infrastructure. For us, sustainability is imperative, and central to our operations and philosophy.

Today, corrosion remains one of India’s most pressing infrastructure challenges, leading to avoidable losses of over USD 100 billion annually while risking human safety. At Jindal Stainless, we are tackling this head-on by integrating stainless steel as the long-term solution in highways, bridges, metros, and coastal projects. At the same time, we are intensifying our own environmental commitments: scaling up renewable energy adoption, incorporating green hydrogen into our decarbonisation roadmap and installing one of Odisha’s largest captive industrial solar plants this year. With renewable energy set to meet over 30% of our power requirements, and a clear pathway to cut 50% CO₂ emissions by half by 2035, our vision is to deliver infrastructure that is not only stronger and longer-lasting, but also cleaner and greener for future generations.

Empowering people, enabling growth

We believe that for the sustainable growth of any nation, it’s important that every section of society is empowered. Through initiatives like the Stainless Academy, we are strengthening the ecosystem by offering skill development and technical know-how to fabricators, industry partners, students and aspiring professionals by way of trainings, partnerships and advocacy. So far, more than 53,000 fabricators across the country have been trained, and the number continues to grow. Today, the program positively impacts livelihoods, builds expertise, and supports the backbone of India’s manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.

The coming decade will be decisive as India moves towards becoming a $5 trillion economy. The foundation of this growth will be laid by robust infrastructure and progressive policies, and India is already setting new global benchmarks.

As we continue our journey, we continue to draw inspiration from Shri Nitin Gadkari’s vision. His ability to combine speed with sustainability, and ambition with pragmatism, is a guiding light for us. At Jindal Stainless, we remain steadfast in our mission: to contribute to a viksit and atmanirbhar Bharat, to innovate for the future, and to contribute to a nation that is not only building faster but building better.

In celebrating his contribution, we also reaffirm our own commitment to stand one with the Government of India in transforming India’s infrastructure landscape into one that truly reflects the aspirations of a rising India.
