Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited bags the Global Sustainability Award for the second consecutive year

Hisar, August 24, 2021: India’s leading stainless steel producer, Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited (JSHL) has been awarded the Energy and Environment Foundation Global Sustainability Award 2021 (Platinum category) for the second consecutive year.  The award was presented to JSHL in a virtual ceremony organised during the 12th World Renewable Energy Technology Congress and Expo 2021. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. This eminent award recognizes and honours outstanding contribution by organisations for their actions and commitment towards green manufacturing practises.

Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, JSHL, Mr Vijay Bindlish lauded this achievement and said, “JSHL is at par with international standards of adopting renewable energy technology. I congratulate the entire team of JSHL for minimizing energy wastage and consistently making strides towards achieving carbon neutralisation. I thank Energy and Environment Foundation for acknowledging our continuous efforts towards clean and sustainable manufacturing practises.”

The award was received by Senior Manager, Central Electrical, Mr Arvind Sharma; AGM, SPD, Mr Rajesh Goyal, and Senior Manager, Utility, Mr Rajesh Rai on behalf of JSHL. JSHL has adopted the 3-Es approach which relates energy and environment with production economics. The Company efficiently conserves energy to reduce the cost of manufacturing, thus reducing Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. In the current financial year, JSHL received three significant awards in the field of energy and environment, including SEEM National Energy Management Award (Platinum category- Steel Sector) and first prize in the 5th edition of CII National Energy Efficiency Circle Competition 2021.
