Jindal Stainless bags prestigious five-star rating from British Safety Council for occupational health and safety

Hisar, September 12, 2024: Jindal Stainless’ Hisar plant received a five-star rating for occupational health and safety from the British Safety Council. This recognition demonstrates the company’s dedication to creating a safe and healthy work environment for its employees.

The five-star rating, awarded after an exhaustive review, reflects Jindal Stainless’ adherence to the highest standards in health and safety management. The audit process included a thorough evaluation of the company’s safety policies, procedures, and practices, along with interviews with senior management and employees, and on-site inspections.

Commenting on the accomplishment, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, Mr Abhyuday Jindal, said, “Achieving a five-star rating from the British Safety Council is a significant honour and a reflection of our continuous efforts to foster a safe working environment. Our focus on safety goes beyond mere compliance; it is about embedding safety into the fabric of our operations.”

The Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit is one of the most comprehensive assessments in the industry, benchmarking organisations against best practices and providing a pathway to continuous improvement.

Senior Vice President and Unit Head, Hisar, Mr Vijay Kumar Bindlish, took note of this achievement and said, “This recognition is a measure of our unwavering commitment to maintaining a culture of safety. At Jindal Stainless, we view the safety and well-being of our employees as our top priority, and this award inspires us to continue raising the bar in our safety practices.”

This accolade makes the company eligible to compete for the British Safety Council’s distinguished Sword of Honour, which recognises the finest in health and safety management globally.

Mike Robinson, CEO British Safety Council, said: “The award of a five star grading following our occupational best practice Health and Safety Audit is an outstanding achievement and is reflective of a proactive organisation which is committed to continual improvement in its health and safety arrangements and managing risks to workers’ health, safety and wellbeing.”

The British Safety Council is the world’s leading guide for health, safety and environmental management. The Council empowers organisations across the world to invest in workplace health, safety, and wellbeing. Earlier this year, the plant was felicitated with the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council for the fifth consecutive year.
