The Skyway bridge in Florida consists of two long beam bridges joined by a central cable-stayed bridge that crosses Lower Tampa Bay to link Terra Ceia, Florida, to St. Petersburg, Florida.
But unfortunately, the 190-foot top has also attracted a large number of people who desire to take their own life, and the cases were increasing year by year. So to solve this problem, the state decided to add a fence.

Before the installation of the safety fence, suicides from the Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge averaged between 12 and 15 a year, which was then reduced to almost zero after the installation. The safety fence is made of stainless steel and is nearly 11 feet tall. The fence extends to the point where the bridge is just 50 feet over the water on each side of the span. The top of the opening connecting the northbound and southbound spans is not taller.
