Stainless Trivia
Fill in your answer below
Neutron irradiation inside a Nuclear Power Plant can put even the strongest of metals to test. Unlike a lot of other metals, stainless steel provides greater safety and superior performance when used in structural components of high-pressure water reactors and fast breeder reactors. This is due to its superior strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, high ductility and durability. But that’s not all, stainless steel is also the material of choice for reprocessing spent fuel discharge from reactors. At Jindal Stainless, we are proud to strengthen India’s journey towards clean and green energy by supplying 304L (NAG)/304/304L/304LN/316/316L/316LN/321/310S and EN 1.4550 stainless steel to the nuclear sector.
Jindal Stainless has supplied stainless steel plates and sheets for the notable International Thermonuclear Experiment Reactor (ITER) project. The Company bagged the order to supply approximately 1400 MT of stainless steel for the prestigious project, thus contributing to technological advancement in power sector.
