Jindal Stainless’ CSR programme ‘Niramaya’ strengthens healthcare access and preventive health awareness in rural Jajpur

  • Comprehensive healthcare programme supporting underserved communities through primary healthcare, medical camps, health awareness and disease prevention initiatives.

National, October 09, 2026: Jindal Stainless Foundation (JSF), the CSR wing of Jindal Stainless, is strengthening access to quality healthcare in rural and remote communities of Jajpur, Odisha, through its CSR programme – Niramaya. The programme brings together primary healthcare services, mobile medical support, specialised health camps and awareness initiatives, with a focus on taking healthcare closer to underserved communities.

As part of Niramaya, a clinic and mobile medical van provide healthcare services across 15+ villages in the region. The programme also conducts regular health camps and awareness sessions, covering general health as well as specific health concerns such as tuberculosis, cancer, diarrhoea, HIV/AIDS, malaria and sunstroke, which require greater community awareness and early intervention. Recent health camps were organised in Kumbhiragadia village in Danagadi Block and Pataranga village in Korei Block, benefiting more than 600 people.

Commenting on the initiative, Head of CSR, Jindal Stainless, Pritika Chand, said, “For any community to stay healthy, awareness about prevention is as important as access to treatment. Through ‘Niramaya’, we address both these facets and promote healthy practices among individuals and families. At Jindal Stainless, we believe that access to quality healthcare is important for building healthier and more resilient communities, and we remain committed to facilitating the same in the region.”

During FY 2025-26, Jindal Stainless’ CSR initiatives impacted more than 26,000 lives. Through Niramaya, over 16,000 people benefited from healthcare services in Jajpur. The programme forms part of JSF’s wider healthcare initiatives, which also include Nanhe Kadam, focussed on clubfoot treatment for children, and Kavach, focussed on healthcare programme for truckers.

Through Niramaya, Jindal Stainless continues to take a community-based approach to healthcare in Jajpur, combining regular access to medical services with preventive health awareness and specialised interventions to support healthier and more resilient communities.
