Jindal Stainless’ Jajpur unit wins three awards at TQM Convention 2026

  • Recognition highlights unit’s commitment to quality excellence, innovation and operational excellence 

Jajpur, July 31, 2026: Demonstrating its commitment to quality excellence and continuous improvement, Jindal Stainless’ Jajpur unit has won three prestigious awards at the Total Quality Management (TQM) Convention 2026, organised by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Pune Chapter.  

The convention witnessed participation from 132 teams representing nearly 30 leading organisations across sectors including automotive, engineering, construction, consumer durables, textiles, industrial manufacturing, and steel. Competing on this platform, Jindal Stainless teams showcased impactful Lean Six Sigma projects focused on enhancing operational efficiency, process optimisation, and product quality.

The teams from Jindal Stainless were recognised for their innovative approaches and structured problem-solving methodologies. Team Manganese from the Steel Melt Shop (AOD) won the Gold Award for its project titled ‘Optimisation of Manganese Recovery in 200 Series’. Team Alpha from the Hot Strip Mill secured the Gold Award for its project on ‘Reduction of RIS Defect in 300 Series’. Team Comet from Central Quality received the Silver Award for its project titled ‘Reduction of Trapezoidity in Grades 304 & EN 1.4307’, highlighting its contribution towards process improvement and quality enhancement.

Over the years, Jindal Stainless’ Jajpur unit has strengthened its quality culture through the widespread adoption of Quality Circle (QC) initiatives, Lean practices, and Kaizen activities, encouraging employee-driven innovation and problem-solving. With more than 270 Quality Circle teams involving over 2,000 employees, the unit has successfully embedded a bottom-up improvement culture across its operations.

The unit’s Integrated Management System (IMS) ensures alignment of quality, environmental, and safety objectives, while digital IMS platforms enable real-time monitoring, compliance tracking, and enhanced audit readiness.
