Reimagining Growth in Harmony with the Planet

Planet Positive
At Jindal Stainless, our ambition is clear - to grow responsibly while maintaining balance with the environment. We see every tonne of stainless steel we produce as an opportunity to make the world stronger, cleaner, and more circular. Our Planet Positive approach is about embedding climate action and resource efficiency into every stage of our value chain - from raw-material sourcing to end-of-life recycling. We are advancing toward a future where carbon, water, and waste footprints shrink even as our positive impact expands. Through renewable energy, process optimisation, and material recovery, we are driving transformation that safeguards both industry and the ecosystem. Biodiversity management, green-hydrogen exploration, and water-neutrality pathways further extend our commitment to climate resilience. Our goal is simple yet profound - to decouple growth from environmental burden and redefine what sustainable manufacturing can achieve.

Our Planet Positive agenda is built around four focus areas that drive environmental stewardship:

Our Goals

Our journey toward a Planet Positive future

Our journey toward a Planet Positive future is guided by clear, science-aligned goals. In the short term, we are accelerating renewable integration across operations and strengthening material circularity through scrap utilisation and by-product reuse.

By 2030, we aim to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill,
Establish fully closed-loop water systems and
Expand our renewable footprint to meet a significant portion of captive energy demand.
Achieve water neutrality by 2033.
By 2035, we target a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, supported by biomass fuels, green-hydrogen pilots, and energy-efficiency investments.
In the long term, our vision is to achieve Net Zero by 2050 - building a circular, carbon-neutral stainless ecosystem that stands as a model for sustainable industrial progress.

Our Progress So Far

Our environmental journey continues to gain momentum through actions that demonstrate measurable impact. We are rethinking how energy is sourced, materials are used, and resources are regenerated - ensuring that progress today protects possibilities for tomorrow.
