The capital city of India played host to the world's richest Half Marathon on October 16th 2005, and laid claim of ownership to the world's biggest and grandest sporting festivals. With the highest prize money in the world (US $ 150,000) on offer and forty of the world's top male and female runners taking part in the first year itself, the Delhi Half Marathon, with Jindal Stainless as the Associate Sponsor and major corporate as Partners catapulted Delhi into the elite league of cities that have a ratified international marathon to their name.
