Corporate Information Technology works closely with business, corporate functions, IT Heads of group companies and subsidiaries, to provide strategic technological direction to the Group`s IT initiatives.
It is responsible for formulating and administering the IT policy covering information security, the business continuity plan, information system audit, standardization of technologies/platforms across the organization and other major IT investments.
It ensures timely and on-budget completion of various technology pertinent requirements of the organization. One of the major roles of Corporate IT is to identify evolving technology trends/changes that may support the group’s business strategy, and to create an IT roadmap for operationalizing the same. It initiates the IT Service and Outsourcing Contracting processes and provides inputs to the procurement teams in the selection of vendors to ensure maintenance of the running applications and introduction of new applications/ IT infrastructure. It is responsible for smooth running of Data Centre Operations for business critical applications like SAP, intranet portals, email and other third party cloud solutions. It also manages the MPLS/ VPN network services for the group’s Sales stockyards in India.
The IT function is instrumental in developing strategic relationships with major IT service providers.
